Occre's impressive 1/300 scale wooden model recreates the legendary White Star Line ocean liner with 3,423 parts, intricate photo-etched detailing and a finished length of almost 900mm, making this a substantial project with plenty of fine detail to discover throughout the build.
ABOUT THE KIT:
Occre's RMS Titanic is a detailed 1/300 scale wooden model of the famous ocean liner, measuring 896mm long, 115mm wide and 242mm high when complete.
The kit contains 3,423 parts and combines fine hardwoods selected for their different structural and finishing purposes with precision laser-cut wooden sheets. High-precision photo-etched brass is used for many of the finest details, while Zamak castings provide additional small fittings and decorative components.
The large model captures Titanic's distinctive profile, from her four funnels and extensive superstructure to the lifeboats, deck equipment and other details found throughout the vessel. A basic display stand and photo-etched brass nameplate are included for presenting the completed model.
Occre rates the Titanic as Intermediate / Level 2, with an estimated assembly time of approximately 600 hours. A complete series of step-by-step video tutorials is also available to guide modellers through the construction process.

HISTORY:
RMS Titanic was an Olympic-class ocean liner built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast for the White Star Line. At the time of her completion, she was among the largest and most luxurious passenger ships in the world.
Titanic departed Southampton on 10th April 1912 on her maiden voyage to New York, calling at Cherbourg in France and Queenstown, now Cobh, in Ireland before heading across the North Atlantic.
Late on 14th April, Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. The collision damaged several of her watertight compartments and, during the early hours of 15th April 1912, the ship sank. More than 1,500 passengers and crew lost their lives, making the disaster one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters of the period.
The tragedy exposed serious shortcomings in contemporary maritime safety regulations, including the provision of lifeboats. Titanic carried lifeboat capacity for around 1,200 people, considerably fewer than the total number of passengers and crew aboard.
The location of the wreck remained unknown for more than seven decades. On 1st September 1985, an expedition led by Robert Ballard and Jean-Louis Michel located Titanic on the seabed of the North Atlantic at a depth of approximately 3,800 metres. The wreck was found in two main sections and has since been extensively explored, photographed and studied.
More than a century after her loss, Titanic remains one of the world's best-known ships and an enduring subject of historical research, exhibitions, books, films and model making.
