The Charnwood W824 Midi Woodturning Lathe continues to be a best seller. It’s size is such that it can accomplish most of the projects turners are likely to try. It is also Charnwood’s largest lathe that can be moved off the bench when not in use. Its size and weight therefore makes it manageable to move. Please remember that it is 32KG and therefore care should be taken when lifting to avoid personal injury. Key Features:
The bed of the Charnwood W824 Midi Woodturning Lathe is one-piece precision ground cast iron giving 14″ between centres. Also the new heavy duty centres are supplied as standard. The bowl turning capacity of 12″ diameter over the bed. This requires a very low speed which is achieved using a converter and a DC motor. Also a clear LCD display shows the current RPM in use.
The tool rest banjo is a cam-lock design for rapid adjustments with all metal components. The tool rest itself the ever popular round bar made from hardened steel. The headstock is hollow centred to allow for easy tool removal. The tailstock is also hollow and has automatic centre removal.

VIPER2 70mm Diameter 4 Jaw Geared Scroll Chuck
A compact scroll chuck. The jaws adjust by a geared mechanism for simple one handed operation. Self-centring, high precision design. Ideal for Mini and Midi sized lathes. The standard dovetail jaws can grip the workpiece both internally or externally depending on the style and shape of the piece to be turned. Supplied with dovetail jaws, wood screw, T-bar for locking the jaws and T-handled hex key for swapping the jaws.
