Background
The Porsche 917 made history in the CanAm series from 1972 onwards. As an open-top 917/10 version, the racing car developed into absolute dominance on the race track. In cooperation with the legendary Roger Penske team, Porsche secured two consecutive championship titles. These successes cemented the 917's reputation as one of the most successful racing cars of its era. The extraordinary combination of German engineering and American racing spirit made the 917 a legend of motorsport.
