Duxford

On Remembrance Sunday 10am to 4pm, IWM Duxford offer free admission to all as we remember members of the Armed Forces who lost their lives in active service.

At 11am, a two-minute silence will be observed across the museum. There will also be a traditional service of Remembrance.

They will also be giving families the opportunity to learn about remembrance together, with hands-on activities throughout the museum.

IWM Duxford is Britain’s best-preserved World War II airfield, with a fascinating history that dates back to the First World War. Its story reflects the landmark achievements made in aviation history.

Historic buildings sit alongside their striking contemporary exhibition halls;  AirSpace and the American Air Museum. Through the rich displays of iconic aircraft and the powerful stories of the men and women involved, they show the impact of aviation on the nature of war and on people’s lives.

With one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and artillery, in our Land Warfare exhibition, they show how technological development impacts on war and conflict.

More than simply a remarkable museum, IWM Duxford is an fascinating and hugely enjoyable experience for all the family, and especially poignant on Rememberance Sunday.
