HISTORY:
HMS Cossack was part of the Royal Navy's esteemed Tribal Class destroyers, marking a significant leap in naval prowess upon her commissioning. These ships were engineered as robust, heavily armed vessels, capable of handling the demands of contemporary naval engagements.
The ship gained enduring recognition in February 1940 during the dramatic Altmark Incident. Her crew courageously boarded the German supply vessel Altmark in Norwegian waters, freeing over 300 Allied sailors who had been captured during the pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee's prior commerce raiding activities in the Atlantic. This bold action exemplified the Royal Navy's tenacity and was one of the early notable achievements of the Second World War.
HMS Cossack remained active throughout the war, taking part in various missions and convoy escorts, symbolising the bravery and resolve of the Royal Navy during Britain's most challenging times. The Tribal Class destroyers proved to be formidable combatants, combining substantial firepower with the agility and speed required for modern naval warfare.
This Vintage Classics kit offers modellers the chance to recreate this historic ship, capturing the unique design and essence of one of the Royal Navy's most celebrated destroyers from the Second World War era.
Paints and glue are required to complete this model kit. Not included. Available separately.
Plastic Magic Cement is a thin, liquid plastic cement with a 10-15 sec adjustment time & non-clog action. It is non-toxic, non-flammable, has minimal odour and almost zero emissions when compared to competitors.
