Norton 1971 750cc Commando PR Race Bike

Model Specifications:

  • Scale: 1:9
  • Model Length: 246mm

In 1967, in order to relaunch sales on a rapidly changed two-wheeler market, the Norton Motorcycle Company introduced its new motorcycle: the Norton Commando. The Commando adopted a parallel twin cylinder 750cc engine with two valves per cylinder.

Compared to the previous British engines, it was characterised by higher displaced and forward tilted cylinders. The use of the isolastic anti-vibration system provided an impressive increase in riding comfort.

The Norton Commando, replaced the outdated Atlas, and immediately obtained commercial success. It became very popular and well-known all over the World. In the United Kingdom it won the Motor Cycle News “Machine of the Year” award for five successive years from 1968 to 1972. It was particularly appreciated for its modern and innovative shape, especially the design of fuel tank, handlebar and back cover.

Starter Paint Pack Includes:

6x 17ml Vallejo model paints. Vallejo paints are supplied in plastic bottles of 17ml with an eyedropper device which keeps paint from drying and prevents spills. The model color range has been specifically developed for adherence on difficult surfaces such as metal and plastic, but the product is not toxic, not flammable, and does not give off noxious fumes. The paint packs offered are only our suggestion and may not match directly with the instructions found within the kit.
